Product Overview

Most sulphur on the market is recovered from oil refining and natural gas processing, where it is removed from fuels to meet clean air rules. It is melted, formed into granules and cooled, giving a dust-free product that is easy to store and handle.

High Purity

Sulphur content of 99.9% typical, with very low ash, moisture and acidity.

Dust-Free Granules

Hard, uniform granules produce far less dust than powder or lump sulphur.

Easy Handling

Free-flowing material suited to bulk vessels, rail wagons, trucks and bags.

Inspected Cargo

Quality and quantity verified by an independent inspector at loading and discharge.

Typical Specifications

Indicative commercial values for granulated sulphur. The final specification is agreed in the contract and confirmed by the independent inspector's report.

Values are indicative only and depend on the producer. Cargo quality is established by independent sampling and laboratory analysis at the load port.

Applications

One of the most important raw materials in the chemical industry.

Sulphuric Acid

The largest use. Acid is made for fertilisers, mining, batteries and chemicals.

Fertilisers

Phosphate fertilisers and sulphur-enriched products for sulphur-poor soils.

Metals and Mining

Leaching of nickel, copper and uranium ores.

Rubber and Chemicals

Tyre vulcanisation, carbon disulphide, pesticides and pulp processing.

Handling notice. Sulphur is a flammable solid and its dust can ignite. It is shipped and stored under IMSBC code and local rules, away from heat and ignition sources. A safety data sheet is supplied with each cargo.
