ESPO is a blend of crude oils from Western and Eastern Siberia, shipped to the Pacific coast by pipeline. Its low sulphur content and good middle distillate yield make it a popular feedstock for Asian refineries.
Sweet Crude
Low sulphur content of about 0.5 to 0.6% means simpler processing and lower treatment costs.
Medium-Light Gravity
API gravity of about 35° gives a high yield of diesel, jet fuel and naphtha.
Pacific Loading
Loaded at Kozmino in Primorsky Krai, close to the main Asian crude demand centres.
Inspected Cargo
Quality and quantity verified by an independent inspector at loading and discharge.
